Cowboys, Cowgirls Won't You Come Out Tonight

Well, it finally happened, my little man had his 1st birthday party! Our little cowpoke won't be one for a few more weeks, but we celebrated a bit early because my sister and her family were in town. I am so happy we were able to share this special day with so many family members and friends. I'm pretty sure everyone had a rootin' tootin' good time at Max's Cowboy bash, even though it did rain for a few hours.

Here's are a few pics from the party:

As the guests arrived each of the kids decorated their party cups with western stickers and their name. After everyone arrive we dressed our deputy sheriffs in cowboy hats, sheriff badges and bandannas.

What cowboy party would be complete without a western town made out of cardboard boxes. We used motorcycle and wardrobe boxes, leftover paint and corrugated plastic for the roofs.

Party games included "Pop the Pig" (pink balloons with pig faces drawn on them), "Snakes and Horses in the Hay Hunt"  in our make shift corral, and a "Western Shoot Out" with water guns that included the adults and kids.
Sheriff Max had a cowboy  boot smash cake and all his deputies had cupcakes topped with chocolate star lollipops.

Goody bags were simple brown bags folded over and secured with faux leather cord. Each had a different cowboy quote written on it like, "Head 'em up Move 'em out" "Yee Haw" and "Ride 'Em Cowboy". Inside guests found western shaped candies, mini cow tales, chocolate gold coins and my favorite.... wax candy mustaches.

Food included three kinds of chili with lots of fixins, cornbread, baked beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, cowboy caviar, chips and salsa and a few other snacks. We decorated with lots of cowboy printed balloons, streamers and cardboard boots. My favorite decoration was Max's 1st birthday banner. A tradition my parents started when I was little. Each year on our birthday, they would hang our banner with a new "logo" for the year. I always loved waking up on my birthday to see what had been added. Now my little ones will get to enjoy this small pleasure too!

Overall, it was a success; a great day filled with lots of fun, good food and amazing family and friends. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day so special for our little cowboy!

When Life Gets Crazy... Go With It!

Well, I was on a roll for a few weeks there, until life finally caught up with me. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I'll definitely be getting back to the daily grind starting tomorrow. I have so many wonderful shops and treasuries to share, I can't wait!

My brief hiatus was brought on by a wonderful trip to the Brimfield Antique Show. Selling was good, but buying was so much better! What an amazing wat to spend a few days. I forgot how much I love being in the center of all that action. I can't wait for September. Keep and eye out for lots of new additions to the shop starting this week. I'll try to do a Sneak Peek post in the next day or two.

Upon returning from Bimfield, I was met by the loving arms of my hubby and 2 little ones, desperate for some mommy time. We followed mommy time up with a fabulous visit from my sister, brother in law and adorable nieces. To put the icing on the cake, yesterday we had a big 1st birthday bash for my little cowboy Max. I can't believe my baby is almost 1 already. What an amazing but incredibly busy few weeks it has been.
From my busy house to yours,
Courtney

Undiscovered Shop Of The Day: Harmonicajane

Even the name is truly inviting, just daring you to take a peek into this new vintage boutique. Harmonicajane joined Etsy on June 4th of this year. I was immediately smitten with these vibrant blue Foo dogs she has offered for sale, as well as this adorable Car and Camper Tie Tack.

This Northern California vendor has got you covered, from vintage mending wool to antique mercury dime cuff links. She just officially opened her shop a few days ago, so be sure to check in regularly for new listings. Oh yeah, don't forget to stop by and drop her some hearts of encouragement.

Treasury of the Day: Strangely, I Love you

I think it is time to face the truth.... We all love the "strange" little collection of items that CircaVintageFinds has translated into this daring and unusual treasury. I admit to owning South of the Border gear, back in the day. And who didn't want that Hamburgler plate from McDonalds? Thanks for taking me back to my youth, when my wants were simple and life was all about whimsy and fun! So here is an awesome treasury that will surely take you back to the good old days!

Be sure to take a peak in Circa's vintage store on Etsy. One of my favorite find is this colorful Vanity Fair undergarment. The fabric is just amazing .... I love the colors and patterns so much, it seems a shame to hide it under clothing.

Happy Thursday!

Undiscovered Shop of the Day: Dream

On July 6, 2010 this brand new Etsy shop debuted. Dream appears to be developing into a shop that is inspired by vintage romance, with a European flair. Upon visiting this San Mateo natives website, it becomes very clear that this veteran antique dealer has an eye for all things French.

As soon as I laid eyes on the stunning chandelier pictured below, I knew Stacey Rhodes' new shop absolutely needed to be my undiscovered shop of the day. Dream certainly won't be undiscovered for very long! Her amazing inventory can be seen at www.dreaminparis.com and hopefully soon on Etsy as well.

Treasury of the Day: Venti Mocha with Whipped

After a sleepless night, this coffee lover's treasury is just what I needed to start my morning. Curated by Keeky27, this creamy caffeinated collection certainly added a punch of vintage to my morning coffee. I hope you enjoy these wonderful vintage finds in various shades of coffee and cream.

Be sure to check out this 100% Vintage Market Team treasury and its' creator's lovely vintage shop. The picture below inspired my latest treasury! I'm sure you'll agree that "green with envy" is the perfect name for this instant collection of kelly green depression glass.

Have a great Wednesday!

Undiscovered Shop of the Day: Lizabee

Lizabee in her own words is " a military spouse, mom and a self-taught photographer who loves travel, exotic places, the sea, doors, windows, vintage things and natural light." Her beautiful fine art prints definitely reflect this sentiment! Whether you're lured in by the London Fog or a Venetian Blue door, this artist is sure to please.

Since travel is not in my immediate future, I think I'll definitelybe living vicariously through the moments Liza has captured during her adventures abroad.
.

Treasury of the Day: Black and White

Black and white can be so chic, and it definitely is in this 100% Vintage Market Team treasury. Yet another beautiful collection by PhotographicAmy . This wonderfully curated treasury is full of amazing vintage treasures. I'm particularly drawn to the retro Black and White Naugahyde Gym Bag.

When your finished perusing this stunning treasury, don't forget to stop by and say "Hi" to Amy, the curator.
Her vintage shop is filled with fun vintage finds like these Fabulous Pink Strawberry Canisters.

 Happy Friday!

Undiscovered Shop of the Day: LilsMonsters

Now I know LilsMonsters only has two items listed, but she did just open today! What she has added are these 2 adorable plushies Purrdi and Delilah.

Be sure to stop by her shop and send her some hearts for encouragement. Keep sewing LilsMonsters because we'll all be watching for more of your adorable creations!

What Became of It Wednesday: Nautical Picnic Beach Blanket

I always get excited when I see what becomes of the items I sell. Although I am the creative type, I very rarely have the chance to bring any of my vintage supplies to life. So, when I run across a seller who has made something truly wonderful, out of something they purchased from me, I can't help but get all giddy! Here is the first in a series of blog posts that I'll be doing called What Became of it Wednesday.

I am so excited to present to you this Nautical Picnic Beach Blanket by SewnNatural.
A few months back, the mother daughter duo purchased some fabulously mod, red, white and blue fabric from me. I absolutely love what it was transformed into!

This perfectly patriotic beauty is eco friendly and incredibly stylish. Use it for a Fourth of July picnic or a day at the beach.

And what is even better, is that it becomes this sweet little 11" roll with a handy carrying strap, for easy transport and storage.

Thank you Jen and Jane of SewnNatural for making my day! Be sure to check out this mother daughter team's Etsy shop. They combine their wonderful eye for design, with an eco friendly sensibility. I can't wait to see what they sew next!

Treasury of the Day: Blue Green Dreams

I'm truly in love with this gorgeous treasury by Vintage Now and Then. I believe it is one of the most stunning collections I've ever been included in. The colors are spectacular and there isn't an item that I wouldn't enjoy owning. All I can say is "Wow, What and honor!"

Be sure to stop by her eclectic shop for some wonderful treasures like this Vintage Floral Honeycomb Copper Mold. This is one piece that may just have to become part of my personal collection.

Have a fabulous Thursday!
